Location:

El Albir is a quiet and attractive coastal town located in the province of Alicante, in the Valencian Community, within the municipality of L'Alfàs del Pi. It is located on the famous Costa Blanca, between the towns of Benidorm and Altea. Known for its relaxed atmosphere, its pebble beach with crystal clear waters (Playa del Albir) and its proximity to the Serra Gelada Natural Park, it is a very popular destination for both international residents and tourists seeking tranquillity, good weather and nature.

The area has a large expat community, especially from Nordic, British and Dutch backgrounds, giving it a multicultural and cosmopolitan feel. It offers a wide range of amenities: restaurants, international supermarkets, medical centres, schools, and cultural and sporting activities.

Connections to other cities:

  1. Benidorm: Just 10 minutes by car, or easily accessible by bus. From Benidorm you can also take the TRAM (tram) which connects to Alicante and other points along the coast.
  2. Altea: 5-10 minutes north on the N-332. Altea is famous for its old town with cobbled streets and sea views.
  3. Alicante: About 45 minutes by car. Alicante is the provincial capital and offers a wider range of services, shopping centres, cultural life and a port with ferry connections to the Balearic Islands.
  4. Valencia: Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes via the AP-7 motorway, allowing for easy getaways to this historic and vibrant city.

Airport connection:

The nearest airport is Alicante-Elche Airport (ALC), located about 60 kilometres to the south, which is approximately 40-45 minutes by car. It is an international airport with regular flights to numerous European destinations, especially in northern and central Europe, making it easy for tourists to arrive and for foreign residents to connect.
